Sandals and Socks

I experienced a dozen socks and sandals sightings on my way to the beach today. Where are the fashion police when you need them?

Summer is in full swing and the men of this country are committing a serious fashion crime.

No socks with sandals! I repeat. No socks with sandals!

Please check your footwear before you leave home today lest you commit this fashion faux pas.

And no, I don’t care if your name is David Beckham. Lose the socks!

  1. I am so glad you posted this! Seeing people wear socks with sandals drives me crazy.

  2. I brazenly wear this taboo combo'.

    The sandles chafe otherwise.

Anyway, it's 'wear your socks and sandles with pride' week.

If it isn't it should be.

I'm sure it's perfectly leagle if you're over the age of 50.

  3. D.Prince & Hardhouse: Thanks for your solidarity on this issue. I suggest we stage an intervention for Tickers.

Tickers: Where is "Queer Eye for the Welsh Guy" when you need them? Everyone knows the Welsh have no fashion sense so it doesn't surprise me that you wear socks with sandals proudly. But look at Tom Jones. He's Welsh. Surely those tight pants must cause severe chafing yet he's built a career around them.

  4. I'd rather watch the World Jigsaw Championships (Socks and Sandals Wearers Division) than have to look at Tom Jones ever again.

He makes me want to do what Beckham did on Sunday.

  5. Geoff: Tom Jones just won't go away. But women throw their granny panties at him now that his audience have aged.

  6. Actually the latest for all us fashionistas is SOCKS with sandals and trainers! come on, keep up you colonials!!

  7. The only thing missing is their fanny packs.

  8. Frobi: You are not permitted to lord it over the colonials unless you use your formal title of King Frobisher of Benin. Has your throne been toppled, by the way?

Maddie: Don't get me started on fanny packs! Perhaps a separate posting is in order.

  9. Men have such horrible gross feet! Guys are actually doing you Ladies a great service by hiding them!
We don't decorate our toes or scalp large calluses from them.
We know that it looks STUPID but the alternative is disgusting.

Why are you gals looking at our feet anyway?(HE asked knowingly) Don't you know that the old feet/wanger guesstimater ratio thingamabob is a phallacy!

  10. That is so Jack(ass) in those pics!

  11. why do hippies think it is ok to deny what should be a law of nature by wearing birkie sandals with wooly, chunky, handknitted monster socks? is it simply another 'stick it to the man' statement? in which case those feet in those socks would be pretty effective.
now i forgot what i was saying. *goes to change socks*

  12. Homo: "We don't decorate our toes," you say? Stay tuned for another posting later today. Oh, and "phallacy"... nice one, Homo.

Xtasy: You are so right to divorce his ass!

First Nations: Come to Vancouver if you want to see the capital city of Birkenstocks.

  15. HAHA naw, i wouldn't blame the sport, I blame the dirty hippies who volunteer at the SPCA.

Knowing you MJ we're in for pics of guys with toe rings, or something, next. **shudder, cringe**
