Office Etiquette

Mind your manners in the office!

We've been spying. We've planted our detectives in the shadow of filing cabinets, beneath receptionists' desks, in business houses big and small everywhere--and we're pretty fed up with their findings.

It seems the working woman at work is given to GIRDLE HITCHING!

-- an exception certainly to the rule that all unaffected gestures are charming.

We here at Infomaniac feel that a word to the wise might come in handy--and if you don't like our words, have a look at our pictures, and think about your business behaviour.

While You're Waiting...

Please wait for the next available representative. Someone will be with you shortly.

While you're waiting for Part Five of Let's Bring Back, Mistress MJ is putting you on hold.

What is the longest you've been placed on hold during a telephone call?

And which companies are the worst for wait times?

And does an actual human being ever answer the phone anymore or is it always an automated voice?

Mistress MJ will return soon. Your call is important to us.

The Wet Spot

How do you handle wet spot etiquette?

"Whether it's lube, massage oil, semen, female ejaculate or some other fluid" (mystery fluid?) no one has to sleep on the wet spot anymore thanks to the enterprising Canadians who sell the NoMoreWetSpot Blanket.

That Agonizing Itch

Last week, in the comments section of this post, I posed the following question to AyeM8y aka Mean Dirty Pirate aka Mr. Nude Infomaniac…

You raise an interesting topic of etiquette, Ayem8y…
What should one do if ones genitals itch whilst in public?

He responded with…

Rub your crotch on the nearest person but do so while placing your hands on them ever so elegantly.

Later, Ask the Cool Cookie chimed in with his take on the situation…

For both men and women, if one bathes regularly, this should not be a problem. However, in the event that the unthinkable happens, find the nearest cloak room, Mens or Ladies Lounge where one can scratch ones self silly.

We here at Infomaniac want to know your opinion.

What is the proper etiquette for scratching one’s private bits in public?

Etiquette for Entertaining

Guests arrive from Montreal this week chez Infomaniac.

My questions to you are:

1) How much housework is necessary to make guests feel comfortable? I’m thinking that clean sheets, clean towels and a clean bathroom are sufficient.

2) Is it rude to blog with guests in the house? Please advise.

(Note to Betty: The image above is for you after seeing your comment on Geoff’s blog.)

Sidewalk Traffic Tickets

The Internet Slacker in Toronto has created fake sidewalk traffic tickets to hand out to those who commit sidewalk violations.

What violations would you add to this list for your corner of the world?

Underground Etiquette

If you ride underground public transit (The Tube, The Subway, The Metro) read Underground Etiquette.

So far there are 33 lessons on things you really should and shouldn't do on The Tube.

I am guilty of Lesson One: Don't read over people's shoulders.
