Toilet Paper

Before you hoard, check this handy toilet paper calculator to see how much toilet paper you really need.
Sliders on the calculator alter the amount of toilet rolls you have, and the amount of times you go to the toilet everyday.

There are also advanced settings which alter wipes per trip, sheets per wipe, sheets on roll, and the length of your quarantine. So be sure to click on the "Advanced Options" feature.

The average user has 500% more toilet paper than they need for quarantine.

How Do You Poop?

In a previous post, describing her toilet tank lid, Mitzi said, "Mine has a push button centrepiece with dual flush so it's clutter free, except for the occasional spare toilet roll, which is a good thing really, because when I'm feeling a bit worse for wear or dealing with a difficult boulder, I like to sit facing the cistern."

How Far Would YOU Go?

It appears that Starbucks and Tim Hortons in Canada May Not Actually Be Recycling Their Coffee Cups ,as they claim to have been doing.

An investigation revealed that many paper cups collected by some Canadian Starbucks and Tim Hortons coffee shops for recycling are being sent to landfill, not to a recycling plant, as we were led to believe.

This is reason to continue to bring a reusable cup with you when you order take-out coffee and wish to do your part for the environment.

But how far would YOU go to help protect the environment?

An American man vowed to live trash-free for a year. He had to change his way of life and he had to get creative but the experiment was a success.

For example, he tried to think ahead. He carried a fork, a spoon, a plate and a bowl everywhere he went, just in case an event served food but provided only plastic cutlery to eat with.

He was living at the time of the experiment in Ann Arbor, Michigan; one of America’s most environmentally conscious cites. He could purchase most of his food unpackaged, and there were several great secondhand stores if he really needed something — "shops where the shoes didn’t come in boxes and the tools weren’t wrapped in protective plastic casing."

Kudos to him. The Mistress applauds his efforts. What began as a one-year experiment ultimately lasted two and a half years. But here's where The Mistress would personally draw the line...

Five months into the experiment, after some initial reservations, he gave up toilet paper. He chose to use only water and his hand to clean up after he'd done "his business."

Could YOU go this far?

Harsh Toilet Tissue

There is no form of human illness QUITE so humiliating as rectal trouble...

FEAR OF SPLINTERS in harsh toilet tissue led to a successful advertising campaign (1920s & 1930s) that made Scott the world’s largest manufacturer and exporter of toilet tissue.

One brand, Sani-Tissue, was treated with balsam to ensure softness.

An ad warned that "after 40 years of age, doctors say you have one chance in two of contracting some form of rectal disease." The cause? "Harsh or impure toilet paper."

You can read more about it here.

So how about you? Do you feel susceptible to the troubles caused by harsh toilet tissue?

Coloured Toilet Paper

When was the last time you purchased a roll of toilet tissue in any colour other than white?

Toilet paper was once available in a rainbow of colours such as pink...

Green...

Lavender, blue, and yellow.

You could choose a colour of toilet paper to match or complement the colour of your bathroom.

Coloured toilet paper was popular in the U.S.A. and Canada until the 1980s when it fell out of favour because of health and environmental concerns.

Coloured toilet paper is back.

The scented three-ply toilet tissue by Renova will come in Black, Fuchsia, Cyan, Red, Yellow, Orange, and Apple Green.

And it has built-in moisturizing lotion.

They say their product is eco-friendly and dermatologically tested.

Will you wipe your butt with it?

Men Who Pee Sitting Down

Fellas:

Do you pee standing up? You’re a stehpinkeln.

Or do you pee sitting down? Then you’re a sitzpinkler.

MAPSU (Mothers Against Peeing Standing Up) is an organization of “concerned individuals who want to stop peeing standing up, support the victims (those who have to clean up), and prevent unnecessary urine stream fragmentation.”

Urine stream fragmentation? Is this an issue in your household?

The WC Ghost is a voice-alarm that shames German men from standing to pee at the toilet.
"Hey, stand-peeing is not allowed here and will be punished with fines, so if you don't want any trouble, you'd best sit down," one of the devices orders in a voice impersonating (former) Chancellor Gerhard Schroder. Another has a voice similar to that of his predecessor, Helmut Kohl.

WC Ghost

So tell us…

Is one method of peeing preferable to another? Is there any advantage in sitting to pee over standing to pee?

If you’ve always done it one way, try it another. Right now! And get back to us with the results.

The Big Squat

Are you ready to do The Big Squat?

Assume the position, bitches …

November 19 is World Toilet Day.

The World Toilet Organization asks you to squat for one minute today to acknowledge the need for proper sanitation worldwide.

Participating in the Big Squat is simple. Simply squat for one minute in a highly visible location, and then have a plan to explain to anyone who notices WHY you're all squatting.

Squatting is actually a very healthy bathroom stance, but it's also a symbol of the problems in the developing world, where a lack of sanitation forces people to squat in fields, on train tracks, or in other open places. Open defecation is actually one of the worst problems facing the developing world.

Looks like our friend Piggy’s already got a head start! …

Click to enlarge to see that the sign says "There are more toilets further on"

Please do not leave the public facilities pebbledashed, as Piggy has done.

As for the rest of you…

Ready. Set. SQUAT!
