Pee-Wee’s Playhouse Reruns Back on TV!

After 15 years, Pee-Wee’s Playhouse is back on the air!

"I'd say this was a dream come true, but I never dared to dream the Playhouse would join Adult Swim's amazing lineup of cool shows!" Paul Reubens said. "Well, maybe I did dream of it a couple of times. OK, it's a dream come true!"

Further coverage of this breaking Pee-Wee Herman news is on Jacquie’s blog Artifacts.

  1. Woo Hoo!

Pee Wee's back. It still makes me ill that it took 15 years but who cares, he's back!

What the Hell is adult swim?

  2. D.Prince: From the Cartoon Network's FAQ...

Adult Swim is Cartoon Network's late-night programming block of cartoons that appeal to a grown-up sense of humor and other adult sensibilities. Adult Swim is a separate entity that is shown on Cartoon Network but has its own programming, marketing, branding, and web presence.

WHY IS IT CALLED ADULT SWIM?
It's a swimming pool analogy, basically. It refers to those times when adults find it more enjoyable to have kids "out of the pool." The name "Adult Swim" reflects this block's appeal to older viewers.

  4. First Nations: I have the Cowboy Curtis action figure too. I like to pose him in compromising positions with the other members of the Playhouse.

  6. D.Prince: Anything for a fellow Pee-Wee fan.

Frobi: I see that you've wasted no time changing your title from "Lord Frobisher" to "His Supreme Highness King Frobisher of Benin." So if you married Annette Bening, would she be Lady Bening of Benin?

  8. To me it would be like watching a weird pale-faced Mister Rogers.

    Isn't Pee-wee like a hundred years old?

  9. Jacquie: Cheers. Your Pee-Wee posting made my day!

Awaiting: Paul Reubens is 53 now. But since it's reruns they're showing, we'll be seeing the younger Pee-Wee.
