My eyes! My eyes! Enough, already!

Although, if forced to choose, I’d select the Flagg Shoes from the photo above.

“Big Mutha,” anyone?

  2. The 70s were a tough shoe time for me. I am already tall enough. But more importantly, awkward. So there was the real danger of falling off the platform shoes!

    Oh Hai Savannah!

  4. I tried the Dr. Scholl's but they hurt too much so I went back to my Adidas red suede court shoes. Although I did have a pair of navy and cream platform shoes that made me 6 feet tall!!!!

  9. Oh Hai, Everybody!

I've worn a few of these, the #4 in particular was the most comfortable shoes I've ever had including the modern (I'm not going to say the "C" word).

Must say though, the platforms need to come back!

My FAVE Ferragamo is the Rainbow platform sandal!

The sole is composed of cork layers covered with various coloured suedes.

It looks like something out of the seventies but it was created in 1938.

XL: The 70s were a tough shoe time for me. I am already tall enough. But more importantly, awkward. So there was the real danger of falling off the platform shoes!

    How tall ARE you?

PONITA: I tried the Dr. Scholl's but they hurt too much so I went back to my Adidas red suede court shoes. Although I did have a pair of navy and cream platform shoes that made me 6 feet tall!!!!

  22. The 70s were depressing. Tuf shoes were no more.

  23. Oh god. How many many times I slid out of my Dr Scholls or fell off my clogs...

  24. I had the beige Earth shoe when I was in the 5th grade. It came in handy for kick ball games. Of course you know I‘m a shoe fetishist and occasionally wear my, Big Shoes.

  25. I remember too may of these. And I wore those nasty "jellies" in college. Looked cute, but they made your feet sweat and then stink. I had an idiot friend who wore "glass slippers" for her wedding. Yes, you can all collectively gag, I did and I was the maid of honor. Anyway, her feet were so drenched in sweat she actually sloshed. Gross!

    The famous BIG SHOES!

In your case, it’s big shoes, big fill-in-the-blank.

KELLY RED: I remember too may of these. And I wore those nasty "jellies" in college. Looked cute, but they made your feet sweat and then stink. 27. I must apologize for my absence from Infomaniac as of late...I was whisked away in a TARDIS by some little blue men. They were quite adamant that I go with them.

We ended up in a land with no poverty, religion, or politics. It was called Neverland and Micheal Jackson was still alive, with Elvis and the guy from Sandford and Son. We had a lovely time but alas, it didn't last forever.

I am back in this world of insanity but with a keen understanding of facial plastic surgery.

I actually had a pair of those Happy Face shoes on when I stepped out of the TARDIS and back home. No one noticed.

  29. Second picture number 5 my mother had a similar pair, she used to call them her "cornish pasties" until the dog chewed them.

I remember wearing these black sandshoes (sannies) for PE.

You’re lucky you made it home.

Last time I travelled in a TARDIS, I was kidnapped by the Yakuza, as you may well recall.

The photo won’t load at the moment so I’ll just have to imagine you in hideous footwear.

Mistress MJ is a fool to have imagined you in kitten heels all your life.

  33. Oh how I miss my platforms! And though the style came back for women it never resurfaced for men. I think I owned two of the styles feature here. Le sigh...
