Here's a little something from an album that keeps Mistress MJ warm on those cold winter nights. And let it be said that I love absolutely everything on Melody Gardot's "My One and Only Thrill". It's been on constant rotation here since its release in 2009. And yes, I've mentioned the CD before but it's that good.
We here at Infomaniac recommend listening to it by candlelight, whilst sipping a cocktail, artfully draped across your fainting chaise.
Now over to you, Bitches...
Do you have a CD that begs to be listened to by candlelight?

William Shatner Sings O Canada
ReplyDeleteSlim Whitman - Indian love song
ReplyDeleteYou and Margaret deserve one another.
DeleteThat really was very nice, very Basseyesque. Are you some kind of faggot or something?
DeleteNo, Margaret and I are what you deserve....
DeleteFar be it from us to leave a romantic moment unsquashed....
MARGARET!!!
Could I get an "Amen" ova heah?
WALLY: Am I some kind of faggot, you ask?
DeleteNo, Mistress MJ is a big ole fag hag.
And lovin’ it.
You will be sorry for encouraging Margaret’s sweaty monkey love…mark my words.
Time catches up with all of us Darling MJ... Why it seems like only yesterday that you were a young pretty and budding fruit-fly....
DeleteI got to know this Indian miss
DeleteAnd then se about to steal me a kiss
She was just as sweet as the mornin' dew
We got out under that Indian moon
And then we really started to spoon
Cause she was a romancin' little Sioux
Mmmm I love my Indian ma ay ed
Oh I wish I could of stayed
I said uh honey I love you
She said Wally I love you too
I'll never forget my little Indian maid
Well, what does it matter, after all, it is the end of the world...
ReplyDeleteWALLY: The end of the world tomorrow will put a damper on my plans to host the Deck Your Balls event.
DeleteYeah, the day after my birthday, too.
DeleteWally, are you up for a Princess Sandwich?
And make MJ watch with eyes taped open.
Today is your birthday, Margaret?
DeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARGARET!
*uses all caps in an attempt to work up some enthusiasm*
Mistress MJ is disturbed by the image of a Wally/Margaret/Princess sandwich.
Who’s the meat in the sandwich?
norma.
Deletebwahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, thanks, MJ (examining my manicure).
I'm having a great party-didn't you get the invitation? Oh, it must've gotten lost in, in Mayan Land!
"So did Yma Sumac." Jx
DeleteToo much coming to your lover under the cover is what causes baldness...
ReplyDeleteToo many U turns under the sheets....
PRINNY: Too many U-turns can cause skid marks.
DeleteThe Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald!
ReplyDeleteMR. LAX: You will be thrilled to know that Gordon Lightfoot will hit the road next spring with his “50 Years on the Carefree Highway Tour”…so far no Texan gigs, however.
Deletepurty!
ReplyDeleteYes, you are, Jason.
Delete*Breaking News*
ReplyDeleteI'm still here... The Mayans were talking crap!
PRINNY: Good news from the future!
Delete♫Let’s break out the booze and have a ball! ♫
It's supposed to happen tomorrow, Princess. That means Wally and I have you ALL DAY AND NIGHT!
DeleteIn Australia, it's already tomorrow.
Delete♪♫Tomorrow,
tomorrow,
I love you, tomorrow...♪♫
PRINNY: Back far away from Margaret.
DeleteBefore it’s too late.
"MJ's only a day away (from being Myan-ized!+"
DeleteThe Look of Love by Dusty Springfield. Just for the sexy sax notes!
ReplyDeleteSx
Oh yes!, Miss Scarlet.
DeleteDusty Springfield gets her share of air time chez Mistress MJ.
mistress knows what she speaks of.
ReplyDeleteNo one is listening to a word we say about this, NORMA.
DeleteWe’re in this Melody Gardot love together.
I can so totally see you two posing in the mirror together, snapping FB photos, but just for yourselves.
DeleteThe public is not invited to your soiree.
I'm scratching your Melody record, MJ...5, 4, 3, 2,....
Hands off, Margaret!
DeleteEncore! Encore!
ReplyDeleteMay I recommend to Mistress MJ, in the same mood, Patricia Barber's rendition of A Taste of Honey
DeleteHUGGY JON: Quelle belle chanson!
DeleteMerci infiniment.
Oh and how could have I forgotten Stacey Kent who sings so beautifully in French with just that sligth english accent that make it all so sexy!
DeleteListen to her singing this beautiful song by Charles Trenet: Que reste-t-il de nos amours.
HUGGY JON: I have a feeling that “candlelight music nights” chez toi are the ultimate in romance!
DeleteBy the way, there is one French song on Melody Gardot’s CD… Les Étoiles.
And HERE, live from Paris, she sings so beautifully my favrite song by Jacques Brel: La chanson des vieux amants
DeleteI think all bitches should go read her biography on Wikipedia. Melody is a real survivor!
Damn! My links didn't work:
DeleteLet me try again:
The video HERE
The bio HERE
HUGGY JON: “La chanson des vieux amants”… ça c’est belle, n’est-ce pas?
DeleteI saw Melody interviewed in-depth on television some time ago about her accident and about how music helped her in her recovery. An amazing story.
One more thing, Huggy Jon... if you click on the link that British Jon left that says "definitely," you'll see that he gives a bit of bio info on her in his post.
DeleteMwaaah! Jx
DeleteDid we just exchange bodily fluids, Jon?
DeleteI'm not itching so far... Jx
DeleteBlimey! I must have scrolled down too fast, I totally missed Jon's link. Thanks Mistress. :)
DeleteLinda Purl "Alone Together" (yes, the actress in all those bad/wonderful 80's shows)
ReplyDeleteTOPHER: And her first husband was Desi Arnaz, Jr.!
DeleteI wonder if any of the songs were inspired by Desi or her other THREE husbands.
Yes, love me some Linda Purl movies with her perpetual "I gotta sneeze!" expression.
DeleteCheck out her FB. Linda loves Linda.
Like MJ loves norma.
MARGARET: Facebook is the devil.
DeleteMistress MJ does not have an account.
Got kicked off again?
DeleteDusty? Of course! Melody Gardot? Definitely. Jx
ReplyDeleteJON: Won’t you join Norma and Mistress MJ in what appears to be our exclusive club?
DeleteAs long as involves no exchange of bodily fluids. Jx
DeleteJON: I can’t speak for Norma but you have my word.
Deleteall my bodily fluids emerge as dust;
Deleteclean up's a breeze!
Dusty? Melody? For me it has to be Dora
ReplyDeleteOh bless her! A eternal icon... (And still with us - just - I believe). I have a treasured copy of Dora's debut album on vinyl, and a rare copy of "Showboat" with her - and Shirley Bassey! Jx
DeleteYet another performer with an OBE.
DeleteIsn't it time Mitzi and Jon were awarded too?
Oh wait, you're a couple o' dames already!
I adore Julie London's 'London by Night' - even my scratchy vinyl can't subdue her honey vocals and as a bonus - there out of the Boudoir's window is London by Night - purrrfect xxx
ReplyDeleteMS. CHARLOTTA SHEER: Julie London...the very definition of sultry!
Delete
