my sisiter-in-law Pamela, or, as she prefers these days, "Mela." When my little brother died in a dreadful accident (Iwas the only wirness. It was bad.) my family sort quietly imploded and just stopped functioning. Fotunately, the next year, my brother started dating Pam and when he brought her around to meet us, it was like the sun breaking through years of misery. She didn;t have to pay any attention to me, I was just the nellie little brother, but she did. She picked me up put of that misery and held me up long enough for me to escape. I will never ever be able to thank her enough. I think what my life would have been like without her and shudder.
As a kid, boys my age were awful to me. Grown men were usually as bad as the boys. I hated them all. Females, whether they be my age or older were kinder, smarter and safer. Women were the center of my universe, minus the chip-chop, of course.
And don't get me started about the broad that runs this joint......
So many amazing women have made and continue to make my life wonderful--I count you among them, MJ. Thank you for being a friend.
Without a doubt, Mom is the first and most important influence on my life--for loving me and teaching me to be the best that I can be and to live life to the fullest.
Special honor to the Golden Girls for making me laugh back then and still making me laugh now.
EROS: Those of us who had influential mothers are fortunate, indeed.
Your mother must have done something right because more than once, I’ve been influenced and/or inspired by the content of your blog posts.
And speaking of “Golden Girls” my mother looked like Rose’s twin sister. I’ve had people visit my house and ask, “Why do you have a photo of Betty White on your wall?”
When Betty White finally hangs up her dancing shoes, it’s going to be like having my mother die a second time. Hang in there, Betty!
I love you so much bitches today ! I cannot write a lot in english but I can read and understand.
I,M 62, when I was younger i didn't like Golden Girls with their gray hair but now, I listen the show every night at Dejaview....and Betty White in another show, "who's the real....." she always have the right answer ! Don't die Betty, not now.
Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman. When I was very very young, I wanted nothing more than to sit on her lap! She was so glamorous, kind, powerful, and intelligent. I think I just wanted her to look after me.

ReplyDeleteSo hears to you Mela. And thanks.

PEENEE: The Mistress shed a tear, reading your comment. And no, I am not being facetious.
DeleteThank the stars above for Mela and all who love little lost Nellie boys.

DeleteNORMA: Again, another tear. What are Bitches trying to do to me? Ruin my reputation?
DeleteThe Mistress hopes that a few good men have come into your adult life and not just for the chip-chop.

ReplyDeleteMR. DeVICE: Perhaps you haven’t heard about Damien’s Wonder Woman obsession.
DeleteI’m sure he’d offer his lap.
Ooh, I haven't been to Damien's for ages - and I see he's redecorated since I was last there. Wondrous, indeed!
DeleteWunderbar. Or rather, Wonder Bear.
DeleteThe Mistress MJ for being Wendy to our Lost Boys.
ReplyDeleteLX: Lost? Did you take a wrong turn at Albuquerque?
DeleteSeriously, The Mistress is moved by your kind words.
Hear, hear! Ten years of Mistressing has left an indelible mark.
DeleteMR. DeVICE: Mark? Or stain?
