The Pansy Project
Paul Harfleet plants pansies in the streets of Manchester, England wherever he’s received homophobic abuse. He photographs the pansies, gives them titles according to the abuse received, and posts them on his blog.
Beginning in May 2006, Harfleet embarks on a national tour where he’ll be planting pansies for others who have received similar abuse.
During May, the Pansy Project will start in Manchester Gallery as part of the Queer Up North Festival.
In June, the Pansy Project will be included in an online exhibition as part of the Queer Cultural Center Festival in San Francisco.
Harfleet’s blog is in the process of being overhauled into a website in order to make it more user-friendly. The address will be www.thepansyproject.com
Clicking on this address above will still lead you to the blog now to view the project.
