Sleep - It's Wonderful!

Or so I've been told.

[via]

The Mistress is experimenting with a variety of sleep techniques.

Regular posting will resume sometime on Monday if The Mistress gets a good night's sleep, for a change.

While The Mistress is sleeping, do NOT look through her diaries.

  1. Have you tried hitting yourself in the head with a skillet a la Wilma Flintstone?

One toke over the line, sweet Jesus?

  3. Your diaries? I've had quite enough smut for one weekend.

  5. Sleep? Not too sure to what this reference alludes.

  6. Mr. Peenee will be spending the night in The Oubliette.

The Mistress is trying various methods to fall asleep and stay asleep such as:
-Turning off all screens an hour before bed.
    -Avoiding alcohol before bed.
You know, the usual tips, even though I've tried them all before.

Last night was good. SIX hours of sleep. The Mistress seldom sleeps more than 4 hours.

  7. A sleep diary ? Just to watch & monitor, recognise a pattern, something that may be changable towards embetterment.
I think six hours are good isn't it the required minimum sleep for an adult ? If you can keep it, this would be fine ! I can go on four hours for one or two nights, than I crash down. It notably affects my ability to speak, think, react etc., no good when driving in the morning.
BTW some people swear they can sleep after a good cup of coffee in the night.

    1. A sleep diary is a good suggestion, Mago.

Yes, I believe that a minimum of 6 hours is required to function well the next day. I often experience what I call "brain fog" the next day, resulting in difficulty concentrating and thinking. And, as you've noticed, I'm MOODY.

For several months, I've been using special eyeglasses that claim to filter out blue light from computer screens. They haven't helped me sleep so now I'm trying to turn off all screens at least one hour before bedtime.

    2. Say - I do not know if this is related to the sleep or its lack, or if we already spoke about it once - do you get enough natural sunlight ?

    3. MAGO: The Mistress usually gets plenty of natural sunlight… until I injured myself over a week ago. I haven’t seen daylight since.

  8. Sleep is a concept I am only vaguely familiar with at the moment, with the marauding beasts upstairs. Jx

PS the concept of "avoiding alcohol" at any time is also completely alien!

  9. I can tell you for sure that I fall asleep after eating a large meal, esp. turkey or a big dessert. It helps that I usually start the day working out. By the time I am done with work and chores in the evening, I'm ready for a cup of tea and tired enough to get some sleep a few hours after dinner.

    Music--relaxing music--also helps me sleep.

    1. EROS: Alas, soothing music, as much as I enjoy it, has not helped me sleep on previous occasions.

But perhaps it’s worth another try.

  10. I use a Breathe Right strip on my penis.
As a matter of fact, it's still asleep.

  11. Oh! I missed this post - And not because I was asleep.

Do you read in bed? I find that laying on my front while reading, with only a low watt bedside light on, has my eyelids drooping after only a few pages.

And, before you ask, it's not the book because I even dropped off reading your diaries!

    1. MR. DeVICE: Yes, I do read in bed. That’s why I go through so many books so fast.

If I can’t get to sleep, I read for a few hours. Unlike you and many others, reading has no soporific effect on me whatsoever.
