YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD PHOTOS!

Your neighbourhoods are as diverse as you are, Bitches!

Scroll down the page to see where your fellow Infomaniac Bitches carry out their trade business on a daily basis.

Clicking on some of the photos enlarges them if you want a closer look.

Are you ready?

MR. COOKIE

MISTRESS MJ: Let’s get started with Mr. Cookie, who, as it happens, is deeply involved in his neighbourhood’s history. What do you have for us today, Mr. Cookie?

MR. COOKIE: A promo to a one hour special (premiering on the local PBS channel WOSU-TV on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. EDT) featuring me in the promo!

Why me? Because I wrote the book(s) on the community!

We shot this about a year ago - it's part of a series that WOSU-TV is doing on Columbus, Ohio neighborhoods.

MISTRESS MJ: You wrote a book on local history? I love reading local history!

MR. COOKIE: Then you'll love the five books (four books under my name, and one ghosted) I have written!

MISTRESS MJ: Those of you in the broadcasting range of WOSU-TV can watch the program on Thursday, October 6 at 8:00 p.m. EDT on PBS. For those of you who can’t view the show this week, it will be uploaded to YouTube in a few weeks time and we’ll present it to you here on Infomaniac.

In the meantime, watch the promo. Listen and look for Mr. Cookie at 7 seconds into the show through to 14 seconds. That’s right! See and hear our very own Mr. Cookie!...

NURSEMYRA
This wonderful old building is just four houses down the street from me in Sydney Australia. It hasn't been a police station for many years but recently it was up for auction and I had a chance to look inside - dozens of fabulous large high ceilinged rooms and a lovely wide hallway with a lockable barred gate separating the offices from the cells. I would have loved to have bought it and converted it into a home but it was waaaaay out of my price range.

DESIGNING WALLY
"The top one was taken by me with my silly camera-phone, at the first green, previous spring in the borough of Queens in New York City.....
The other two were taken by Google Street View when they happened to capture her majesty's presence in living color, complete with my "C-words" on, in the summer of the same year, working on the garbage & recycling (of which, their presence, I was not unaware)....

AYEM8Y (aka MEAN DIRTY PIRATE)
“I live in a wonderfully eccentric bohemian neighborhood in Pensacola Florida. I live next door to a 96-year-old assumed murderer. The authorities found the dead body of a disgraced city council member underneath his house. The body had been there for three months. Another neighbor is a retired lady wrestler from the 1940’s. Another neighbor is Crazy Curtis who attacked a city code enforcement officer with a meat cleaver. Oh and every other day we have hurricanes and tropical storms.”

First is my house before Ivan a strong category 3 hurricane…

My house after Ivan…

My neighbor Crazy Curtis

Inside Crazy Curtis’ House video...

MR. PEENEE
I live on a teensy little street in a canyon in San Francisco. Happily because the ground slopes so steeply, the two lanes of the street could not be level, so the developers of the neighborhood put a big flower bed down the middle. Despite being very suspicious that this is simply more of Mistress MJ's stalking efforts, mrpeenee will admit he lives in the green house with black trim.

CHICKORY...
The welcoming committee at Chickory in the North Georgia mountains (USA). Scarecrows from previous summers are left in a ditch to rot. Then, in September, they are resurrected to serve as gatekeepers. Works on everyone but Jehovah's witnesses - now the only religion I receive. That's ol' Trouter coming up the driveway.

GEOFF
The end of our close in The Pride of South East London/The Pits of North West Kent, England. Please note the bins at the end of the close, the tall green ones for rubbish or "trash" as I believe you call it. The tall brown ones are for garden waste and the smaller containers are for cans and plastics, bottles and glass and paper respectively. Please note next door's sad, faded gnome in the foreground. It is he who gives the area its name, Gnome Man's Land.

VON LX
Meine Straße in Berlin!

MISS SCARLET
I have a collection of pics for you... the cow is probably the most common view from where I live in Devon, England!...

I have also included pics of the baby swallows just before they left home. And for some reason... also a picture of a local rabbit...

PRINCESS
This Darlings, is the street on which I live in the suburb of Golden Square in the City of Bendigo in Central Victoria, Australia... Well it’s not really a street but, more of a main road....But as you can see, one without curbing or pavements or a sealed driveway for that matter...
The other side of the road has all that. I think one of the residents on that side of the road was on the local council and made sure that his side of the road got the curbing etc before the money ran out! Bastard!
It is nice to have it looking “Natural” though, despite the dust that the postman stirs up on his motor bike as he rides along where the footpath should be!

KAPITANO
I spent the day with the parents on our island retreat.
It's the Isle of Wight - just off the south coast of England. If you've ever watched the TV comedy 'League of Gentlemen', or the film 'The Hills have Eyes'...it has a reputation a little like that. One of those places whose economy seems to survive mainly on the hope that one day there may *be* an economy to speak of.
That, and the idea that the more holiday homes you build, the more likely it is that at least a few of them will be bought.
Less than 100 paces from the front door is a steadily crumbling cliff face...with castle and sea. This *may* explain the lowish property prices in the area - in 10 years, our little holiday home may be underwater.
The sea and sunset were nice on the ferry back though, as you can see in the other photo.
And yes, as soon as I got back I made a cup of tea, had a wank and watched Dr Who. Though not at the same time, 'cos that would be strange.

DAMIEN
“Ladies & Manladies!! – welcome to BANYO – a quaint middle class suburb of northern Brisbane, Australia.
Complete with lots of greenery, quite a few muslims, a smattering of gays and lots of single hot men - hetero sadly.
I love my suburb. I love my little Cafe. The street sculptures outside it. My Chinese take away with the most AWESOME Mongolian Beef EVAH !! and the HIGH-larious old Chinese woman who greets you with “Aaaaaayyyyy you wan??”
Then there is my 60 yr old Maltese Barber who does my blogverse famous buzz cuts – COMPLETE with warm towel ahhhhhhhhhhh.
I love my burb. Its the burbs with a lovely mix of people – very safe – a cute little village – and of course............. me!
Shalom from Banyo – "New Jew Central"

DEAN "KAMEN" BERINGER (aka PEEPER BEEPER)
This was just painted on the side of a very cool wedge shaped abandon building in Pawtucket, Rhode Island that used to house a tool factory. All of us in the neighborhood have been hoping someone would buy the structure and put in a nice market or art gallery, but every time it looks as though a buyer is about to make a deal it all falls through. I believe the city is selling it for a penny but there's much work to be done. Guess this mural will have to do for now.

MAGO
Here's a snapshot of my neighbourhood, taken from a friend's apartment on the eighth floor. The location is Germany, Bavaria, Franconia, a village next to Wuerzburg.

DEEP BLUE (aka JON)
Here are the requested pictures of my so boring neighborhood in the in the "arrondissement" of LaSalle in the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

I took those pictures before you gave the assignment and I had already given the camera back to my sister so I don't have a pic of my street. I did take one of the street two blocks away from where I live...

My street look exactly the same. In fact, all the streets look the same in my neighborhood. Duplextown!
Now moving 100 meters from the point I took the above picture and we end in front of the fire station...

And yes, all the firemen I spotted working there are DEAD GORGEOUS!!! *sigh*

Now simply walking to the sidewalk, moving some 30 meters to the right of the pic, you'll see this...

This is our main street. A very boring, noisy place where you don't really want to hang out. It's a busy road where cars and trucks drive through almost 24hrs a day. Yet, once you get to the streets behind, it becomes surprisingly calm and quiet.

The next image was taken in front of the building marked with the red arrow on the above picture...

On this main street you'll find 3 bakery-pastry shop (1 italian, 1 french and 1 arab), 9 grocerie stores (2 arabs, 1 penjabi, 1 indian, 1 italian-greek, and 2 of the big chains: Métro and Maxi), 5 hair salon, 7 or 8 restaurants, two car dealers (Volkswagen and Nissan), two clinics (my mom's doctor owning one of them), 3 pharmacies, 2 dépanneurs, 2 bars and so on. So very boring but very convinient. And I do still want to leave the big city.

If you just turn to your left, from where I stood on the previous picture you get this...

So there you have it. It was surely a beautiful day in my neighborhood when I took those pictures.

MISS JANEY...
Miss J's neighbor's garden in Altadena, California gives Miss Janey garden-envy... Its so prolific and MIss Janey's hasn't been this year. Moreover it’s located right at curbside yet doesn't seem to be disturbed by tomato looters or squash looters.

NORMADESMOND...
Sorry i never got anything to you. Truth is, nothing special to snap on the street, so....it's corgis, 24/7! Especially when they get their ears taped...

KEVIN
These were taken previously, and some obviously in the summer -- when it was actually nice and dry!

The first one isn't on the street where I live, of course. it's the Toronto skyline taken from Toronto Island. i just thought it was nice…

The "Taste of Health" is more like the taste of poo. Down the street on Parliament/Carlton

A Wellesley Street hottie just a few blocks from my home…

The house on the corner have these colourful wellies all lined up, all year long. Cute…

My neighbour's cherry blossoms, dearie…

And finally…

MISTRESS MJ
When one’s neighbourhood here in the Colony of Upper Canada looks like this…

I should not have been so surprised to find a character like Mr. Snappy sauntering down the street…
Clicking to make him bigger does not do justice to his actual humongous SIZE.

We hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into the neighbourhood of Infomaniac Bitches all over the world.

Several of you wrote in your emails to me that your neighbourhood is boring and some of you didn’t submit photos for that very reason. Deep Blue (Jon) even went so far as to say, “Maybe we should have a vote on which neighbourhood is the most boring!”

But any neighbourhood with an Infomaniac Bitch in it is richer simply for being home to an Infomaniac Bitch, Bitches!

And don’t you forget it!

  4. Wally's home doesn't look as...Queeny as I expected.

MDP's been blown real hard by Ivan...but he's still standing proud. Does Crazy Curtis do dates?

    Mr Peenee has two garages.

Chickory lives on the set of an 80s horror movie.

Miss Scarlett lives with lots of adorable animals. And a bored looking cow. Though I'm not sure what an excited cow would look like.

Princess lives on the set of a 70s horror movie.

    Kapitano lives in the sea.

Dean lives in a place where LSD is available.

Mago lives somewhere very clean and efficient.

Deep Blue seems to live in the place my town is a bad copy of.

Norma has the absolute sweetest views. Awww!

Mistress MJ lives where everything's big, lush and slow. Apart from Mistress MJ herself of course, who I'm sure is petite, neatly clipped, and nimble.

That and an old snapping turtle, of course.

So many new neighbours... All residing in the cosy little suburb of Infomania. Thank you for a great Post MJ and to all you other Bitches for photographically sharing your little piece of this big old world.

And Kapi darling the house is 140 years old so you wern't far off with it being a set for a 70's horror movie... Yet, strangely I feel quite at home.
I often stand on the verandah in nothing but a pitchfork....

Bitches, Mitzi makes a good point in suggesting Crazy Curtis hire Kim and Aggie.

For those of you not familiar with Kim and Aggie, they’re a cleaning duo with a BritishTV show called “How Clean is Your House?”

Here’s a brief video clip entitled FILTH to show you the kind of messes they’re up against.

    Very Crazy Curtis.

It’s so nice to see how and where everyone else lives. I’ve been looking for a new town. Or as Jody Watley sings, “I’m Looking for a New Love Baby...a New Love...Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.

  24. Why do corgis get their ears taped? I've heard of clipping ears but not taping. If ears don't stand upright naturally, why change them? No seriously I have no idea about dog breeds.

  25. I had my ears taped for six years and I highly recommend it if you want that 'perky interested' look.
