Free Stuff

What's the best free stuff or free thing you ever got or found?

  1. Our vintage drop-leaf dining table! I was on my way home from work, and someone had put it out in the street for the bin men. We've had it for about twenty years now...Jx

PS That, and quickies behind many a bush in many a park, of course.

  2. I've been giving away free stuff for years.

The best thing I got free was my market basket. God knows I hate plastic bags.

  4. I’ve found 5 different cell phones. I get them back to their owners. In the future I will walk by them.

    1. JEFFERY: I read an article with the headline, "Your Cell Phone Is 10 Times Dirtier Than a Toilet Seat."

      Walk on by.

  5. Hmm. . . . I know I've certainly been lucky a time or two, but those times elude my memory.

Though not "free," I did come upon a hair steamer in a thrift store that had never been used & was priced at $18.95. For that price, it might as well have been free- The one I had at the salon had been $150.00 and it had been used! I walked over to it, looked at that $18.95 price tag & looked around thinking, WTF, something's wrong. It's gotta be Candid Camera.

    Still using it today.

P.S. A hair steamer aids in the penetration of color.

P.S.S. I used the word penetration on purpose.

    1. NORMA: From time to time, we could all use a little help with penetration.

  6. I like to give more than I take, being the Godless Saint that I am and all. I guess the last good thing I got was a Blue Spruce that needed a new home. It's doing better than I thought it would. I guess I got the spot right for it to thrive, also Global warming helps. Maybe its all I'll have left when the natives wither away.

    1. MELANIE: I love Blue Spruce but then again, I love all trees.

Good for you for giving it a good home.

  7. The only time I can remember finding something useful was a pair of swim goggles on the beach last year. I'd been thinking about getting a pair (for those odd occasions when the sea is reasonably clear) and then I found some!

    1. MR. DeVICE: You can use your swim goggles in The Gincuzzi, too!

  8. A Hermes blue and gold headscarf that was tangled up in some bushes in Nice, made an excellent Christmas present for my mother, though I didn't tell her I had found it.

A pair of ladies Bvlgari sunglasses that was left inside a telephone kiosk, back in the days when people used them.

A couple of years ago I found a small pair of binoculars that had been left on a park bench in Benalmadena.

I passed an ATM with money hanging out of it, I can't remember the amount I shared it with Carmen.
