Winter in Canada

[via]
Where’s my muff?

When Mistress MJ awoke this morning, it was -30 degrees Celsius … that’s -22 degrees Fahrenheit to those of you in the United States.

And when you factor in the wind chill, it feels like -39 degrees!

Apparently, it’s the coldest day we’ve had on record in this town!

“HOW COLD WAS IT?”…you ask.

To give you an idea what happens when the temperature plummets that low, observe this 33-second video clip…

Canadians…making winter fun!

  9. PRINCESS: You could always go a pair of These

    Magic fuzzy pants?

They look like Ms. Nations’ legs after a long winter of no shaving.

I suppose you want me to pair them with Crocs to complete the idiotic look.

“Fuzzy Pants” would be a good nickname for Beast, wouldn’t it?

SAVANNAH: i'm so not going to complain about our weather, sugar!

Not a peep out of you Miss Georgia Peach!

Mistress MJ is not complaining…merely reporting the weather.

Are you up for a day of ice fishing anytime soon?

MITZI: What a waste of steam! She could be pressing a shirt or running a railway or something.
I hope you are wearing your thermal knickers.

    Mistress MJ has down-filled everything.

And speaking of steam, I warmed my bottom dangerously close to a radiator today whilst using a public loo.

ROSES: See this is why I'm not moving any further northward.

Is Manchester considered the far north?

BOXER: wowzer. That's a cool trick I only want to see on Youtube and never, ever, ever be able to do in my own front yard.

It’s only rained here ONCE this year. Hooray!

Even though it’s freezing, you have to wear your sunglasses to prevent snow blindness.

The sun shines brightly much of the time here in the winter.

KABUKI: kabuki keeps telling everyone 'put on a damn pair of socks'. no one listens anymore. kabuki is gonna go talk to the houseplants.

The tropical bonsai and ornamental shrubbery, perchance?

NORMADESMOND: you're gonna need a little chap-stik for that knish.

Chafing can be a problem at this time of year.

    GEOFF: "That's so cool!"
Hopefully we've had our cold snap this winter. It's just dreary here now.

Living here is like one big chemistry experiment after another.

I’ll see what I can do with giant icicles.

CYBERPOOF: For godssake put some clothes on! And for our sake too

    Critic.

  19. Nobody wants to hear about my weather problems - although it's 74F in my city right now, it's forecast to drop below 60F overnight tonight, and I can't find my winter-length shorts.

  20. I apologize if Mistress thought that I was pointing at her. You know how to be naked and warm at the same time. With personal regards, Cookie

Being naked and warm at the same time…

    Part of our Canadian heritage.

  22. One wonders if that fan is for warming, or to blow away unpleassant odours?

Thank gods it never gets that cold here. SP was just moaning about how cold it is in our house, and it's not even below freezing outside.
Perhaps I should bring him to Ottawa so he can appreciate our balmy climate.

    Or should that be barmy...?

  24. I guess I am eternally lucky to live in California, where cold is anything below the 40s to us!

    In your case, barmy…

see my next comment to you and then carefully examine your next sentence.

XL: Yes, I know there's only one s in umpleasant!

Not only that but there’s no “m” in “unpleasant!”

MANDA: I guess I am eternally lucky to live in California, where cold is anything below the 40s to us!

Stick your head in the freezer.

Then multiply that level of cold several times over.

Now you’ve vicariously experienced a Canadian winter.
