After that last Filthy Friday, I think it best you relax with cocktails and caftans…

  8. XL: "FAST and EASY"
    Pretty much describes The Mistress!

Remind me why I missed you earlier this week?

    WALLY: You Rang???

I believe XL has mistaken me for YOU.

BOXER: Damn it, XL stole my comment.

    THIRD!
    Hai XL and Wally!

I’m not sure I like the tone around here today.

PRINCESS: I'm up to my ears in von Trapp couture already... Do you want me to run up a few caftans while I'm at it?

    Cinderella! Cinderella!

NORMADESMOND: kommando under the kaftan...i love it!

I see you’ve gone with the Persian spelling of caftan.

In that case, you’ve gone kommando to cover your kebab.

WALLY: Still working on our fast machine here in NY....
Thirty stitches in time, saves nine...
    Oh, Hai! Ya'll

You’ve already got the easy covered.

JASON: Fast and Easy access it looks like.
    I approve.

Do you buy pants with Velcro fasteners?

  9. Excellent! No gussets to sew. Gussets are so fiddly.

Saying the word “gusset” three times will magically make Beast appear.

    ELASTICATED GUSSET.

  12. What about those with zipper fetish!?!

  13. Easy access. I like that in men's clothing.

No, I don't do sewing of any description.

  14. I remember those patterns and stepping on pins...it seemed as though everybody knew how to sew when I was a kid.

I remember how men would compliment ladies with "great personalities" by adding the phrase "she sews her own clothes"...which inferred that she'd be an inexpensive domestic slave.

Nowadays a seamstress would need a few extra yards of material to cover the new super-sized forms of modern man. 46-48 would be medium.

  15. If anyone whips one of these up for me I'd like a little sequin piping maybe around the cuff area. Just a whisper, really...nothing too flashy.

Think 80's YSL salute to Russia...

  16. Taking a cue from Michael Guy I'll take the Russian look but from Dr. Zchvago from the late 60's. ( I think). If Princess would kindly stich one up in Garnet vevet with fake Ermine trim; anything I can throw in the washer.

  18. Miss Roses, amongst others..... apparently likes her men in tube tops as opposed to DeepBlue who likes to work for his cache...

  19. Charles Pierce as Bette Davis once said about Liz Taylor "LIZ! You know you are fat when the crotch on your caftan is tight."

  20. And let me add that not can I sew and own my own machine, but I also make drapes for windows. Simplicity Paterns were the simplest to do, Butterick patterns weren't made as nicely.

By the way - I do not make jabbots and swags; not because I can't - but because I find that they remind me of funeral homes.

I can also make cake from scratch -I can also tear down and rebuild tractor engines (John Deere) and suspensions. But there is less call for that as there are for curtains, drapes and the Lemon chocloate chip sponge cake.

  21. Hm, I didn't know men wore caftans.. I thought that only older ladies and larger women wore them.. THen again I guess they're called MuuMuu's if that's the case.

    Oh well.

    ELASTICATED GUSSET.

    Still no sign of Beast.

I believe he favours the phrase “double-stitched reinforced gusset.”

DEEPBLUE: What about those with zipper fetish!?!

Are you asking for a “friend?”

ROSES: Easy access. I like that in men's clothing.
No, I don't do sewing of any description.

You need to state “I like easy access in men’s clothing” on your dating application.

DONN: I remember those patterns and stepping on pins...it seemed as though everybody knew how to sew when I was a kid.

Do you ever get a prickly pin sensation in your swimsuit area?

I know I speak for others as well as myself when I say we miss your discursive comments around here.

Besides, when YOU pop ‘round is the only time I get to use your phrase “swimsuit area.”

MICHAEL GUY: If anyone whips one of these up for me I'd like a little sequin piping maybe around the cuff area. Just a whisper, really...nothing too flashy.

A caftan of silk moiré, perhaps?

TB: Taking a cue from Michael Guy I'll take the Russian look but from Dr. Zchvago from the late 60's. ( I think). If Princess would kindly stich one up in Garnet vevet with fake Ermine trim; anything I can throw in the washer.

When Princess is finished sewing the von Trapp Family costumes she’s expected to scrub the floors.

Then, and only then, will she be free to stitch up your velvet caftan.

GEOFF: I'm reminded of Demis Roussos and this awful song... http://bit.ly/fwegKg

How could I forget Demis Roussos?!

Please let me forget that Kool in the Kaftan song.

WALLY: Miss Roses, amongst others..... apparently likes her men in tube tops as opposed to DeepBlue who likes to work for his cache...

We don’t all want to fight over the same man, now do we?

Which reminds me…hands off Keef, he’s mine!

COOKIE: Charles Pierce as Bette Davis once said about Liz Taylor "LIZ! You know you are fat when the crotch on your caftan is tight."

    Liz gave good caftan.

COOKIE: And let me add that not can I sew and own my own machine, but I also make drapes for windows. Simplicity Paterns were the simplest to do, Butterick patterns weren't made as nicely.

    In short, a Renaissance man.

I have a gay male friend who’s a farmer by day and a whiz in the kitchen by night.

What a lovely American Gothic couple you’d make.

MANDA: Hm, I didn't know men wore caftans.. I thought that only older ladies and larger women wore them.. THen again I guess they're called MuuMuu's if that's the case.

I would suggest ultrasuede for your sports car interior so you don’t burn your delightful derriere.

“King” is an apt description from those I’ve seen too.
