Well, at least there was no big tree falling and damaging a roof or vehicle. And hurricanes are nature's way of pruning the garden and clearing out clutter--whether we want it or not.
But the lawn and landscape look lively and refreshed. The standing grand trees and Spanish moss still add that charming, enchanting touch of magic.
We did luck up in the respect! Last year, Hurricane Matthew did far more damage in our area! The lawn bags were FILLED with Spanish moss! Thank you for the kind words about the lawn! xoxo
Thank goodness no major damage. But what a lovely lawn. I bet houseboys measure that grass to ensure the height and evenness. No excuse me while I go change for the next entry......
Thank you, darlin! The MITM and I got up early and raked all the debris up. OK, we got up early, and HE did most of the clean up, but I did help a little! It was all wind and no water at our house, but a couple of neighbors with backyards that face the marsh did get water intrusion, but fortunately on on the lawns, not in the houses! xoxox
The geometric strictness of the underlying green areas gets eased by scattered groups of bushes and impressive single trees - a classic concept in its purest form, respect for this approach !
It's really handy having a circular driveway, but those damn kids that use it instead of learning how to make a proper turn really make me angry! *get off of my lawn* ;) xoxo

DeleteIs that a cranberry bush? I'm asking for "a friend."
ReplyDeleteNo, sweetpea, just an ordinary variegated pittosporum bush! xoxox

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely true on all counts, darling! xoxo
DeleteOh sweetie. it looks immaculate. I do hope it was just wind damage and no water in the house.

ReplyDeleteThis has to be the nicest thing I've ever heard about our front garden, sugar! It really does photograph well! xoxox

DeleteWhat a lovely garden. Is that Miss MJ lurking in those refuse sacks?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Beast! No, The Mistress, id she were here, would be inside at the drinks cabinet with us! xoxo
DeleteI wish my garden was that tidy... and dry....and bright... you have daylight as well. Jealous.
ReplyDeleteSx
Yes, but remember we live in hurricane country and this was the day after! xoxo
DeleteIs that Spanish moss hanging from the trees? It looks like someone's gone mad with those spray on spider webs! Practising for Hallowe'en?
