Pink Balls

Think pink, Bitches!

Mistress MJ had the pleasure of gazing up into pink balls this summer.

Les Boules Roses (The Pink Balls) form a canopy of 170,000 pink resin balls suspended over the Sainte-Catherine Street pedestrian zone in Montréal’s Gay Village.

Designed by landscape architect Claude Cormier, the balls are part of the annual Aires Libres event and are on display until September 12, 2011.

You never know WHAT you’ll find in the Gay Village!

I was so busy looking up that I nearly missed this…

  7. FYI, in my experience I have found that gingers have pink balls but not ususally suspended above their heads.

She’s not just a pretty face, you know.

SCARLET: There used to be eight of us until Mary had an accident performing a tricky chop manouevre without using a rubber protector.

Speaking of rubber protectors, if you are in Quebec and you’re shopping for jam, do not ask for “préservatifs” as that is the French word for condoms.

    Here’s a ginger for you.

  9. Pink balls suspended above... much nicer than Blue...

Make sure you stretch your neck in between looking up now MJ. I would hate for you to develop a nasty crick.

  10. That's really sorta magical.

Which is what I need to find ANY pink balls suspended above my head.

If they kept the balls up in the winter, surely they’d turn blue.

Who needs a Magic Eight Ball when you’ve got magical pink balls?

  12. R/E ginger photo- I'm pretty sure that's natural, not Miss Clairol.

  13. My friend Miriam Gordon used a profusion of pink beads to create a window covering for her powder room decor at the 1971 Greater Cleveland Decorators Show House. While pretty, they provided little privacy to anyone using the powder room. Poor Shirley Hale discovered this the hard way when she needed a moment alone, and instead found herself seated on the "facility du toilet" only to look up to see several Oriental tourist looking through the window at her during her BM.

But the use of these beads is really novel.

    Carry on.

  15. *sigh*

If it's okay with you, I'm going to make copies of the pink balls. I need to remember what they look like. It's been awhile.

Oh and I hope you've followed Princess' advice and done some neck rolls, to get out any nasty kinks. It wouldn't do for you to come away from such a glorious experience, injured.

  17. What does one say about pink balls? I think I would have rather had hair on them.

  18. Seems as if Mrs. M.S-S. has a very firm grip on things...
I'm not even worried about the vodka fountain....

I'm going to look for images that illustrate a firm grip...
If I am successful, I shall forward them to Mistress.
