  1. I can't tell if the Christian Family Singers are being insufferably smug, or are warning us that their god likes to "touch"?

    Yay! First!

You had better start praying as you will be hearing from my lawyers regarding the publication of my diaries

  2. Seems to me, all four have been touched by God's hand judging from those smiles.

Maybe I should get myself saved?

  3. The Lord works in mysterious ways...and it's certainly mystifying to me how this group managed to put out more than one album!

    1. EROS: I wish I could find a video or audio clip. Or even the track listings. (Can’t enlarge cover enough to see it.)

    2. This one may have escaped your attention ? Not sure if it's the group in question. But sounds reasonable ... "Christian".

    3. MAGO: That’s Christian music on a cracker, all right but I have no idea if it’s our group or not.

Good detective work, in any case.

    4. Detective work, I thought it's just clicking.
Sadly I can not read the label on the record. Interesting graphics. One should think that such album covers can be found somewhere on the web. Also this "C" down in the left corner of the black one is a bit distinguished I'd guess.
A quick image search showed the red cover on etsy, but one needs to log in or such, so I'm off.
TinEye knows nothing, as usual, it's nonsense.
One would need a name,or someone who recognises this logo on the lp. Sorry to be of no more help here.

    5. Did you read the backside of the red record, G & R Recording Studios, Hamilton Ohio, no year ? Eh ?

    6. You want detective work? The record label in question for their first LP is Rose (Vandalia) of Ohio, also home to the likes of Tenny Turner & The Cupp Family, The Kegley Sisters and The Melody-ettes. Unfortunately, no track listing appears to be available. Their second LP (I assume to be the "Me Again" one was published by G&R Records, and if you cut and paste this image into Photoshop or the like, you can zoom to read its delightfully inspiring track list... All this for some God-bothering rubbish! Jx

    7. Photoshoppe is for the weak, you can read the red thing on 400%.
Congratulations for the label. 1968, I'd thought they were from the fifties.

    8. It is entirely possible that Vandalia, Ohio still is. Jx

    10. Thanks, Mago & Jon.

I found a passage in a book online that says the man kneeling in the first photo (with his elbow in the Lord’s crotch) is a member of the singing group.

It goes on to say that the man portraying Christ in the photo is “none other than the well-known Kenny Shively.” Well known? Really? And no, you don’t have to Google him for me. Thanks, anyway!

  4. If all this handy stuff carries on I fear we'll be in the throes of organised clapping this time next Sunday.

  6. "It's me again, Lord" makes me wonder when the Lord is going to cut the fucker off and say "you need to stop thinking of my dying for your sins as a Get Out of Jail Free Card."
