On SUNDAY, you Bitches will have your turn to tell us what you've been reading during the months of MAY AND JUNE for The 2016 Infomaniac Book Challenge.

TODAY, we look at the Mistress's list of books for May and June. Due to laziness, I haven't written blurbs so if a book catches your eye, click on the title for a description.

  1. Excuse me while I skip the wisdom (gossip ?) of Vanderbilt / Cooper for having a quick look at what made Page grab a guitar.
Then I wonder what Ms Taha could make from my name.
As for the non-fiction texts - I'm sorry as usual, I only know what I read in the editors' pages you linked. It seems to be carefree writing about seemingly carefree times - are you especially interested in the pre-WWI-aera, fin-de-siecle, "Lebensreform" etc. ? I think you'd do great on Monte Verita :)

  4. I am curious now about The Name Therapist by Duana Taha & The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper by Phaedra Patrick. Thanks for sharing these. The Summer Before the War by Helen Simonson also piques my interest, but I'm concerned about the cover art: Isn't it a bit dangerous riding a bike in heels? And that long scarf is an Isadora Duncan accident waiting to happen...

  6. The biggest revelation here is that Anderson Cooper (who I've only even heard about because American people keep going on about this gay fella that's on American telly news) is Gloria Vanderbilt's son! I never knew that. INFO-maniac indeed. Jx

  7. That blue suit and red hat looks familiar - if the lady on the bike is Agent Carter, I'll definitely read it!
