Yes, We Have No Bananas

Earlier this year, the Chinese government banned erotic "banana-eating" on live-stream Internet.

New regulations mean that live-streaming sites must monitor all their output round-the-clock to ensure nothing untoward is going on, keeping an eye out for any "erotic" banana-eating.

More details here.

No mention was made of where the Chinese officials stand on cake.

If it's not on the Internet, does it exist?

Were you born before 1985? Then you're a digital immigrant, i.e. the last generation that will remember the world before the Internet. And THIS is how you found information...

If it's not on the Internet, does it exist?

I Googled an old gay bar (it's now a vacant lot) that I frequented as a young Mistress, only to find absolutely no mention of the bar on the Internet.

Surely this drinking establishment wasn't a figment of my imagination? Surely I wasn't drunk ALL the time during my misspent youth?

Fortunately, I was able to confirm the bar's existence by visiting The Archives in my city. Yes, The Archives...a physical bricks and mortar edifice containing public records and other historical documents.

Not only did I find the bar listed in an old city directory, I also found old newspaper ads on microfilm, announcing events at the bar.

So I wasn't imagining the place after all. It existed. But not on the Internet.

It's not the first time I've searched online for something that happened before 1991, only to find nothing at all on the Internet. Not one link. Not one scrap of information. In fact, there have been countless times I've searched in vain for events that apparently never happened or people or things that apparently never existed.

A reminder that not everything is on the Internet. You may have to visit a library or Archives to find what you're looking for.

Over to you now, Bitches. Have you found everything you were looking for on the Internet? Is there something you couldn't find online?

Cock Photos

This is the result I get when I search Google Images for "cock"...

Man with a big cock

Until recently, if I searched for "cock" (not that I often did, mind you) I would get plenty of images like this...

Oh, hello AyeM8y

That's because I always used Google's "no filtering" option.

Not so long ago, I had three options available to me when searching images: "strict" filtering (no explicit content), "moderate" filtering (the default setting), or no filtering (everything including NSFW images).

Well, guess what?

The "no filtering" option is no longer available to me!

Before you tell me that I can adjust my settings on Google's "Search Preference Page"...no, I can't. Google no longer allows me to do that. Turning SafeSearch off is no longer an option.

But as luck would have it, I discovered that I can find plenty of cock if I search some of Google's international sites. For instance, using "Google France" or "Google Germany" let's me see all the cock I can handle!

Long story short...Google has tweaked its Safe Search filter to hinder your access to naughty images in some English-speaking countries. However, they haven't yet tweaked certain international sites and that's why I can still find French cock...Oh là là!...and German cock...Achtung, baby!

And so began my search to find an explanation.

Thankfully, I found an answer on a site called The Verge. You can read their post about Google Images filtering HERE. I encourage you to read the post for more details.

And, in reading this article, I found that there's a way to work around the problem. If you want to see NSFW images, simply add "xxx" or "porn" somewhere in your search query.

Example: cock xxx or cock porn

Or, you can try Bing Images.

But frankly, all this nonsense puts me in this sort of mood...

And now over to you Bitches.

Is "no filtering" still an option for you or has your "no filtering" option been disabled too?

Qwant

A new search engine for you Bitches to try...

Qwant.com

Have a look at this screenshot...

Because the site originates from France, the default language setting is French. You can change the language by using the drop-down "Languages" menu near the top right of the page.

The main feature of Qwant is that it places all web content (including social media, news, photos, videos, etc.) on a single screen.

Play around with it and see if you like it.

Just don't ask me any questions about all the features because I'm getting familiar with it myself.

Lonely Irish Surfers and Randy Brummies

According to Google Trends, "lonely" is the word entered most frequently by Internet users in Dublin, Ireland. Residents of Melbourne, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand followed a close second and third.

“Porn” was searched for most often by people from Birmingham, England with Manchester close at their heels.
