Today, we listen in on French chanteuse Anouk Aïata (the stage name ‘Anouk Aïata’ is Maori for ‘the woman who eats the clouds in the sky’.)
She sings, "Pourquoi regardes-tu la lune?" which translates as "Why are you looking at the moon?" She is accompanied by cellist Amos Mâh.
Bon chanson.
ReplyDeletePS: Google Translate says that "Anouk Aïata" is Maori for "Anouk Aiath!"
Quel nez !
ReplyDelete"As Gerard Depardieu said to me that day, what's the point in having a big nose, if you can't jam a banana up it."

while listening to the lovely tune, of course.
She can eat all the clouds that she want's.... I could eat her cellist...
ReplyDeleteditto princess. ditto.
DeleteSweet - reminds me of my all-time fave "moon song", Hijo de la Luna... Jx
ReplyDeleteShe sings beautifully. What a great find. I like what she does with her voice from 4.00 onwards. Thanks for sharing, Miss MJ
ReplyDeleteYou actually got as far as 4:00 ? She sounds like a goat with a pneumatic drill between her legs.
DeleteI was, as usual, completely twatted on Pimms and Lemonade when I was listening... maybe I need a re-listen to establish the truth. I often play Diamanda Galas' Saint of the Pit just to get guests to leave my dinner parties when I've grown weary of them. Diamanda is such a cheery soul.
Delete... interesting.
DeleteThe result of a Southern Texas curry ?
A fine song for solstice, though I have little idea what it's about...
ReplyDeleteA lovely & wonderful sound...
ReplyDeleteA diet of clouds seems very gassy.
Difficult not to look at the moon at Infomaniac when Mr Pirate is shining so brightly.
