Rolling Stone released a
100 Greatest Drummers of All Time list but we here at Infomaniac would like to know...
Do you Bitches have a favourite drummer?
Do you play the drums or have you ever taken a lesson?
Have you ever slept with a drummer?...
Who can remember....im sure I mist have banged a drum somewhere along the line.
ReplyDeleteFirst?!?
MISTRESS MADDIE: I’m sure you like to ♫bang a gong and get it on.♫
DeleteQ: What do you call someone who hangs around with musicians?
ReplyDeleteA: A drummer!
[rimshot]
LX: There’s another version of that cartoon I posted where the mother says, “It could have been worse. It could have been a guitar player.”
DeleteBOTH my brothers played the drums.
ReplyDeleteI only wanted to lick their teacher.
NORMA: His “drumstick?”
DeleteIs that how you got the name Lickity Split Norma?
DeleteForgive me not having been my sharpest earlier today (I'm actually working for a change & exhausted).
DeleteHow I looked at this and didn't include the words RIM SHOT is beyond me.
From Wikipedia: "A rimshot is a percussion technique used to produce an accented snare drum backbeat. The sound is produced by simultaneously hitting the rim and head of a drum with a drum stick." (emboldening courtesy of Norma).
NORMA: You poor thing.
DeleteHave some rimming sugar.
Animal.
ReplyDeleteAs in "favourite", not "slept with".
MR. DeVICE: Until you clarified, I thought you’d developed a furry fetish.
Delete"Shall I play for you, pa rum pum pum pum, on my drum?"
ReplyDeleteI've had a few good bangs in my time, but not sure any of them played percussion. Jx
JON: The Little Drummer Bowie.
DeleteCoincidentally, I watched this very clip yesterday whilst in a “missing Bowie” mood.
Coincidentally, we also saw it this week - it was featured in the series Gregory Porter's Popular Voices, in an attempt to place Bowie in the "crooners" category alongside Bing et al. Jx
DeleteI went out with a drummer.I was 19.
ReplyDeleteFavourite? Buddy Rich, Xavier Cougat.
DINAHMOW: Is “went out” a euphemism like “slept with?”
DeleteThe van broke down after playing at a dance (out in the boonies of course!) and we all huddled under instrument blankets(no, dear! old army blanket we wrapped around instruments to protect them on country roads) and, yes, slept. No room for sex in a crowded van.
DeleteDINAHMOW: “Instrument blankets” … teehee.
DeleteFavorite?
ReplyDeleteJohn "Stumpy" Pepys.
LX: At least he didn’t spontaneously combust.
DeleteOne of my best friends is a drummer, and he's astonishingly cute, but he likes girl-pie.
ReplyDeleteAside from that, like many of the other commenters here, considering how many men got lucky with me, surely one of them was a drummer. It's just statistics.
PEENEE: Keep your friend away from Miss Scarlet if you ever want to see him again.
DeleteOh my goodness! I have had flings with several drummers. I had almost forgotten. Boom boom tush!
ReplyDeleteSx
MISS SCARLET: Flings with several drummers?
DeleteAll at the same time or separately?
Ummmmm - I'm pretty certain that is NOT the recommended use for a drumstick.
ReplyDelete(PS great to be back :)
Can my novel get a shout out please???
DAMIEN: Welcome back, at last!
DeleteWhat novel? Did I miss something?
p.s. to Damien: For a couple of months, your blog was inaccessible. It said, “This blog has been removed.” Now your blog is accessible but has a post from July saying it’s your last post.
DeleteBut by poking around, I now see this … “Theta” a novel you’ve written on a different site.
To summarize…
A Homosexual Strongman... A Vampiric Elder... A Lycan Aristrocrat... A Mutant Pastoralist... A Dimunitive Acrobat... A Digital Model... A Folkloric Field Agent... A Resolute Immortal... A Dark Leader... A Plague Unleashed
Yes my Mistress. Sadly life took over and many things fell by the wayside. But I am back and eager as always to serve you.
DeleteI hope you are well.
I've missed you my Mistress.
DeleteDAMIEN: We’ve missed you too.
DeleteI'm with Jon, The Little Drummer Boy is my favorite drummer. I also like Dave Grohl and Animal of the Electric Mayhem band from the Muppets.
ReplyDeleteEROS: First Bowie and Crosby, now Grohl and Animal.
DeleteUnusual pairings.
One of my loves played lute.
ReplyDeleteThe correct German expression is "Schlagwerk" - it is basically "anything else", anything that is not summable under the other departements in an orchestra, like woodwinds, brass, etc.
I "know" some drummers like Krupa and this guy from Rare Earth, of course Collins, Moon et al., but they are such "workers", it's all swaet & hammering, ach ...
Jazz drummers are much more sophisticated. Look what Tony WIlliams did, just the most prominent name I guess. Zappa made excessive & excellent use of the Schlagwerk in his works - there is so much to hear & discover.
BTW I doubt that drumsticks really "do" the prostrata, why not stay with the good old fisting ? Ach, I'm becoming conservative after all ...
MAGO: Schlagwerk … I like saying that word.
