I've been trying to keep this a secret until the grand opening but motor-mouth Norma blabbed about it.

Uh, I'm going to pass on applying for the open Official Ball Washer position.
ReplyDeleteLX: But it’s so easy!
DeleteI'm always fascinated by images like the second one, in which the facial expression and the activity simply don't match. If you're going to look so bored about it, why bother?
ReplyDeleteMUSCATO: It’s that look that says, “I don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day."
DeleteMaybe he’s “bowling for dollars.”
Hope he didn't slip on that lino. Jx
DeleteJON: The lino? Or the Albolene?
DeleteLX - you're loss - I'll take it Mistress !!
ReplyDeleteMuscato - agreed
DAMIEN: That’s the “can do” attitude so lacking in today’s society.
DeleteThe top couple are wearing bowling shoes and socks, which I think is respectful.
ReplyDeleteSx
MISS SCARLET: Thankfully, Crocs has not yet developed a bowling shoe.
DeleteNice to see such cumradery going now in the leisure time. But is it me or are the balls on the smaller side?
ReplyDeleteMISTRESS MADDIE: Thanks to Cookie, we know they’re candlepin bowling.
DeleteAnd according to Wikipedia, “the ball used in candlepins has a maximum weight of 1.1 kilograms (2 lb 7 oz), and has a maximum diameter of 11.43 cm (4½ inches), making it the smallest bowling ball of any North American bowling sport.”
pin setting...*sigh*...a lost art.
ReplyDeleteNORMA: I wonder how many pinboys had their full set of teeth still in place by the time they moved on to other jobs?
DeleteAll these years later.....who knew there was a name to my talent. I could have told my late father I was a pin setter. Sigh
Deletemaybe "pin setters" should be
Deletethe name of our league?
oh boy, i can't wait to see the centerpieces
on the tables at our banquet!
Although it's unclear as to whether he's picking up the pin or putting it down, it's nice to see that the Infomaniac Bowl-A-Way uses manual pinsetters rather than automated ones.
ReplyDeleteAYEM8Y: Yes, but the manual pinsetters are costing me a fortune in Albolene.
DeleteThey are candle pin bowling in the top picture, and that boy is trying to get fucked by the duck pin.
ReplyDeleteCOOKIE: Thank you for pointing this out.
DeleteAnd you are probably aware that Baltimore has the oldest operating “duckpin bowling” alley in the United States…the Patterson Bowling Center.
MJ, your scaring me. You have way to much knowledge on the subject of bowling. Perhaps you should go kick those legs up some more.
ReplyDeleteMISTRESS MADDIE: I have visited the Bowling Hall of Fame.
DeleteYou won the Puggy Weaver Memorial Cup !
DeleteI knew it !
MAGO: I'm drinking from it as we speak.
DeleteTell 'em, "I did it for Jonny...".
ReplyDeleteWALLY: Are you off your meds, Wallingford? Should we be concerned?
