ReplyDeleteFantastic post by Jon! My mom was a Hollywood junkie; the more extravagant and super spectatular the movie the better for her. We watched nearly every single one of these together while she ran a steady commentary on the stars, the sets, how things were done, the designers and the music. When I went on to discover 'my people', I found that my familiarity with this stuff gave me an 'in' with the old guard...who's gonna do nothin but love a little baby dyke with a mohawk who can and will sing 'Oklahoma' in it's entirety?
