My favorite was an older couple I knew who had a a bathroom with wall-to-wall carpeting much like the purple example. Theirs was ivory and ran right underneath the clawfoot tub. I suspect it was white when it was new.
OMG who does that?! Nasty! When we were House Hunting in late 2019 there were some Homes that had it tho', so I suppose some people actually do Carpet their Bathrooms! Yikes, I find it to be unsanitary and disgusting... I wouldn't even want to walk on the Floor of one. Of coarse I do not like fitted Carpets at all in ANY Room of a Home... just a few Antique Persian Rugs and I'm good.
Oh dear, just no.
ReplyDeleteI was never fond of the carpet.
And first!
MISTRESS MADDIE: You were never fond of carpet BURNS.
DeleteLovely answer, and accurate!
DeleteNORMA: Have you SEEN the state of Maddie's knees?
DeleteIt's really quite glorious, especially when you've got a daydreaming putz standing in front of the bowl pissing.
ReplyDeleteA pissing putz!
DeletePutz is penis in Yiddish!
DeleteThe smell of piss is just soooooo difficult to scrub out of Nylon.
ReplyDeleteI have, of course, had plenty of shags in a bathroom or two... Jx
JON: A stench so strong that not even a liberal spraying of Febreze can remove it.
DeleteUgh. I recall a 70's fashion for carpeting the side of the bath as well.

MISS SCARLET: That was after tapestries fell out of fashion.

ReplyDeleteHAYWARD: It's stories like this that make me want to scrub my bathroom from top to bottom whether it needs it or not.
