Yes, it's filled with white rum. My grandparents had a speakeasy hidden behind a false wall with a beautiful full bar in the basement. I used to love playing bartender behind it as a kid, many years later of course, I'm not that old!
Sadly the grandparents are long passed and a Police Officer bought the house last I had heard. Honestly with a good scrubbing and some appropriate curtains it could have made a perfect sex dungeon for those that are into such things. Too bad none of us had thought to take a picture of the bar before our family sold it. :(
So many places to explore around here! I love it! I think I would prefer a trap door to the oubliette than one that finds me Shanghaied! These West coast port cities are dangerous, you should make nice with the bartender, they'll send drunks through trapdoors to the tunnels underneath where you find yourself in a holding cell until they put you on a ship to work your way to China. I should make a note to write a post about it. It's one of my favorite Seattle historical stories.
Certainly! My blog is all prim and proper, but my alter ego would like her own blog too. Alas, I cannot manufacture more time though and I do try so hard to remain focused. https://www.nature-led.org
Afterparty in the traveller's aid warm room ? The groupies of Tom Jones ? Oh dear, I'm depressed now. And fear Cream - In a white room with black curtains, near the station ...
Norma, I just remembered that my last haircut was in October, 2019. I was overdue for a cut and was planning an appointment when COVID struck. My hair, which at that time was just sweeping the tops of my shoulders is now half-way down my back. I wish you were closer, too but I fear close contact with almost everyone at this point.
Everyday is like Sunday
ReplyDeleteCome, armageddon Come!
MITZI: Monday is already turning out the same.
DeleteDo they issue sick bags in churches these days? Novel... Jx
ReplyDeleteJON: No but I always carry one with me.
DeleteLooks like its time to slip some liquor into the parishioner punch.
ReplyDeleteMELANIE: Did you bring your flask?
DeleteYes, it's filled with white rum. My grandparents had a speakeasy hidden behind a false wall with a beautiful full bar in the basement. I used to love playing bartender behind it as a kid, many years later of course, I'm not that old!
DeleteMELANIE: A speakeasy? How exciting! What’s the password?

DeleteMELANIE: Sex dungeon? Have you visited our Oubliette?

DeleteMelanie: I’ve been underground in Seattle but nobody offered me a drink.
DeleteCould you please tell me the name of your blog? Blogger doesn’t show it on your Profile.
Certainly! My blog is all prim and proper, but my alter ego would like her own blog too. Alas, I cannot manufacture more time though and I do try so hard to remain focused. https://www.nature-led.org
DeleteThe Mistress will visit you later this week, Miss Melanie. I shall try not to sully your abode.
DeleteI admire your audacity to be so bold. You be you and if anyone doesn't like it they can go huff on their lavender-scented smelling salts!
DeleteThank you, Miss Melanie. I still haven't popped 'round but will be by, by and by.
DeleteBeing a good Christian must be exhausting.
ReplyDeleteHAYWARD: It’s the constant stress of sin, lurking just around the corner.
DeleteHayward!
DeleteI felt that same excitment upon seeing Hayward again.

ReplyDeleteMAGO: I think I hear a wah-wah pedal.
DeleteWanna "Whammy" ?
DeleteMAGO: I think I just woke up the neighbours.
DeleteCareful! Not too loud, or you'll give those two in the pews whiplash!
DeleteMR. DeVICE: Don’t worry about it. Norma didn’t bring her ear trumpet.
DeleteI hope this wasn't the response to my calligraphy class?! I will have to flick ink at them.
ReplyDeleteSx
MISS SCARLET: No need to flick your Bic!
Deletehell, you could do that at home easier. no reason to go somewhere to take a nap.
ReplyDeleteANNE MARIE: And miss all those dirge-like hymns?
DeleteThat's my ploy to avoid tithing.
ReplyDeleteNorma: No tithing? I hope you tip in restaurants.
DeleteRestaurant? What's a restaurant? Haven't been in one of those since (it feels like) 1936.
DeleteNORMA: It was January, 2020 for me. Around the same time as my last haircut.
DeleteWish you were closer. I've been working in my very own private suite which I scrub between clients. It's worked quite well and NO COVID!

DeleteI understand. I do hope that you're enjoying your "down the back" hair! ♥️
