It seems that Tumblr has decided to clean things up.
When I clicked on several Tumblr sites that I occasionally visit, this is what I saw...
To make matters worse, those white splotches that look like cum stains were flashing so I had to close the site before I had a seizure.
Tumblr has installed a "safe mode" to filter out explicit content.
Here's what I want to know...
Is there a way for me to get past the "safe mode" screen to view the sites I want to visit? Note: I'm not a Tumblr subscriber.
Thanking you in advance, Bitches.
p.s. Here's an example.
I can't believe you got that "safe mode" screen - Don't they know who you are?!?
ReplyDeleteP.S. No, I don't know how to get past it, either. Although, I haven't tried as I don't tend to visit tumblr sites (I dont think I do, anyway). I expect your Personal I.T. Consultant, LX, will offer up some sage advice soon...
P.P.S. Yay! First!!
I've added an example site to my post so if you click on it, you too may experience a seizure.
DeleteTummydad?!? I'm relieved that I couldn't get past the Acid House cum...
DeleteMR. DeVICE: Well, if big bellies aren’t your thing, best steer clear of Tummy Dad.
DeleteI clicked on the link and the safe mode screen was pink and flashing.... bit like the opening to a 1970's horror film.
ReplyDeleteApologies, but I rarely visit Tumblr.
Sx
Tumblr is (was) a gold mine for finding pics of nekkid old men with dangly scrotums or fat arses.
DeleteWhat will I post for you now?
Better revive those knitting needles!
DeleteSx
Ah yes, the knitting blog.
DeleteBut wool in summer?
Crochet, perhaps? Plenty of gaping holes to allow the air through!
DeleteMR. DeVICE: You, more than anyone, should know all there is to know about gaping holes.
DeleteWhy not just sit around with tity tassels on and drink? That's what we do best around here. Come sit by me Mr DeVice.......
DeleteMISTRESS MADDIE: Let’s have Princess whip up new titty tassels for everyone.
DeleteOh dear, your source has dried up?
ReplyDeleteShit, you'll never get it out of the carpet.
You Bitches could send me photos of your own dangly scrotums and fat arses.
DeleteTHAT would solve the source problem.
I have no clue how this "safe mode" works or how it is triggered. I just wrote the word "tumblr" and "cougar" in the search box of DuckDuckGo, clicked on the first result and was greeted with images of naked women.
ReplyDeleteMAGO: I’m surprised you could pry yourself away from the images!
DeleteInterestingly this worked with "DuckDuckGo" as search engine. It did NOT work with StartPage (the European search engine), and I am sure it does not work in any way with bing & google.
DeleteWhat differentiates DDG from SP is that the filter options are in DDG on top of the result site. Standard is of course something "family friendly" or such, "no filter at all" is just a click away. I did not play around with this, but as I understand it right now, a search with DDG gives results and access to explicit sites without activating "Safe Mode".
If this is just a still not solved "problem", or whatever causes this, I do not know.
My guess is that tumblr, as you say, "cleans up", and so wants any user to have an account. I think this is the only way all this fiddling with options JEFFERY cites, can work. As someone who has no "smart phone" or other "smart computer", and goes to tumblr just via the web - where should / could I fiddle with search options for tumblr ? Without an account ?
Let me cite : "Anyone viewing your blog on the web will have to be logged in (with safe mode off) to see it."
As I understand, it is an option for the one who runs the tumblr blog, who puts content to the website, to have an option to whom it is shown. So they switch on "Safe Mode required" - or have no idea that this is switched on - just to avoid complaints.
Perhaps those sites I had access to simply did not ?
To sum it up : It will still be possible to have access to explicit content, but it will be more difficult. In the long run I guess an account will be inevitable.
Where's our friend ?!
MAGO: I don’t use any “Smart” devices either. I access Tumblr via the Web (not through an App) on my PC.
DeleteI suppose I’ll just have to search for naughty images on “Bing” with the “safe search” in the “off” setting and then hope for the best. That usually produces results.
Where IS Mr. Lax? Good question.
To the opposite of these directions to turn it off. You may have to get the tumblr app. I got it to follow the Call Me By Your Nmae movie site. They do have more then sex sites.
ReplyDeleteNow you can be sure that only suitable audiences are seeing your content. Blogs that are marked explicit are kept out of search results for people in Safe Mode. Anyone viewing your blog on the web will have to be logged in (with safe mode off) to see it.
What if I don’t want to see sensitive content on Tumblr?
You can filter out any posts that contain sensitive content from your dashboard and search results by turning on Safe Mode. Here's how:
iOS:
Leave the Tumblr app for a sec and go to the main Settings app on your device.
Scroll down and tap “Tumblr.”
Look for “Safe Mode” and adjust the settings to match your comfort level.
Android:
Go to settings: Tap the little person in the tab bar, then the gear icon in the top right, then "General settings."
Tap "Filtering," then
Flip the Safe Mode switch on.
Web:
Go to settings: Click the little fella in the top bar, then click settings.
Scroll to "Filtering," and click the Safe Mode switch on.
JEFFERY: Keep in mind that I am an idiot when I ask this next question…
DeleteAre you saying that I have to be a member of Tumblr in order to access the explicit sites?
No. I went to explicit sites before I downloaded the app.
DeleteJEFFERY: I access Tumblr through my PC, not using an App.
DeleteThank you for taking time to try to educate me, nonetheless. I am a hopeless case.
I'm with you, I don't understand how to do it either, although I do view to many tumblr's. For some reason when I go to Mirror Men, a personal favorite of mine, I can access that with no message. Other's I get it. Who knows. Just get me another cocktail while we await the answer.
DeleteI look things up on google. I wouldn't have a clue what to do. Your question got me to look it up. I had no idea it could be done. It's all intuitive as they say.
DeleteMISTRESS MADDIE: The Gincuzzi is fully operational and a mirror has been installed for your viewing pleasure.
DeleteJEFFERY: Fortunately, I have a lot of images saved that I can use, in the meantime.
WSell, Mr Jeffrey seems to have that sorted. I don't "do" tumblr. But anyone whofeels desperate to see a bulging crotch should type man's crochet shorts into the Google images search....
ReplyDeleteDINAHMOW: Precisely the sort of thing we’re looking for as a crochet blog.
DeleteI clicked on the link, typed in 'Horny Handicaps' and got this message:
ReplyDelete'If you were looking for nothing, you found it.'
Tumblr can go and fuck itself with the rough end of a pineapple.
MITZI: Pineapple? That reminds me.
DeleteWith the totally tropical taste.
DeleteRemind me to never piss off Mitz...although some may pay good money for that.
DeleteMISTRESS MADDIE: Apparently you haven’t lived ‘til you’ve been fucked with the rough end of a pineapple.
DeleteI frequently scroll amongst the fields of tumblr with all their scrumptious young bits and even occasional humor. But I do it through my browser since all the tumblr pages have website addresses because I want just ONE LESS fucking "thing" badgering me.
ReplyDeletePEENEE: It is our lot to be badgered by technology until we take our last breath.
DeleteMistress. as were both aware, nothing good EVER last. If you can't get images, I suppose I will have to resort to going down to the nursing home for shit and giggles.
ReplyDeleteMISTRESS MADDIE: The Infomaniac Villa of Queens Old Homosexuals' Haven Retirement Home?
DeleteFrom what I am finding, there is no way for a non-user to turn off the Tumblr psychedelic money shot.
ReplyDeleteFor Tumblr users, there is apparently a way to turn it off on the console. But it also appears that Tumblr sometimes overrides that setting.
LX: Thank you for your comment. It seems I must say goodbye to some of the Tumblr sites I used to visit. Alas.
