Having had the whole of Easter, and I have this week off as well (greedy!), I have been knackering myself out on our extensive gardens here at Dolores Delargo Towers... Just for the Annual Infomaniac Garden Photos Event, you understand; not for pleasure. How you work me, bitch! Jx
PS It's looking lovely already - and it's only April [the best Spring we've had in years]!
Call me an early bird darling but I'm already downing tools due to autumn being upon us in Oz...Besides...the cooler weather tends to promote shrinkage...
Best spring - for snowmen ! I stood in sleight and hail this afternoon avoiding to get hit by airborne camping stuff from surrounding balconies. Farmers take to the old trick to spray the blossoms of their apple~, peach~ & cherrytrees with water to freeze them in and thus protect them through this cold spell - but this works only a given time. The next nights will see freezing temperatures here - in sunny Franconia, in April ! The Magnolias empty, the cherries stand naked, I rescued a potted Blümchen from wind's garish onslaught - ach. ach - und nochmal - ach !
These tomatoes are way too natural and organic for me! I think I'll skip the meat today, too. I'm going to have to dine on leftover Easter candies--at least I know they're urine free!
My lone sweet potato is barely hanging on. It survived winter. But I made the mistake of putting it back out a month ago when it was warm. A week later, I returned home from work to find that gusty, storm winds had tipped the container over, and I had to salvage the poor plant. It's barely hanging on, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
How timely! I've just taken a load of photos around the garden and have been sifting through to decide which ones to dump on the blog.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I was fully clothed while doing it...
MR. DeVICE: A reminder that World Naked Gardening Day is Saturday, May 6, 2017.
DeleteThank you.

I've mowed the weeds, formerly known as the lawn, twice. I'm depending on us having a hot dry summer to kill the yard then I won't need to do much.
ReplyDeleteJEFFERY: A minimalist approach.
Delete"Stanley, that tomato doesn't need any dressing!"
ReplyDeleteNORMA: Caught, red-handed.

JON: Enough of your chit-chat.
DeleteGet back to the garden!
All I can say is "pick a Peter's Pepper!"
DeleteJx
JON: Pick it? I almost CHOKED on it!

ReplyDeletePRINNY: What a topsy-turvy world we live in.
DeleteI do hope you have photos.
Does canned corn count? I'm asking for "a friend."
ReplyDeleteLX: Does your “friend” keep the canned corn next to the canned cranberry sauce, by any chance?

MAGO: We had freezing temperatures at night this week too so spring has not really arrived here yet either.
DeleteBundle up and keep warm.
I don't think that secret sauce is so secret.
ReplyDeleteRuns vomming from the Oubliette.
DAMIEN: It’s not Miracle-Gro.
DeleteMay 6, huh? Count me out as it's usually a tad chilly here. But if you're desperate for garden stuff I have cyclone survivors on my blog.
ReplyDeleteDINAHMOW: Be sure to hang on to those photos.
DeleteThe annual event will be held when the summer has wound down and there will be a call for submissions.
A reminder that this is not a contest. (There are certain people who need reminding each year.)
*looks sideways at LX and his canned corn*

EROS: Urine for a surprise.
DeleteIs that the hose he waters with?
ReplyDeleteJEFFERY: Yes. Be careful of the spray setting.
